NOVALLOY
Alloyed engineering plastics

As the market for finished products grows ever more diverse, complex and advanced,
Novacel leverages its arsenal of alloying technologies
to design and develop products that meet the need for new materials.

Alloyed engineering plastics
Novalloy
Novalloy | Category | Kinds | Features | Lineup |
---|---|---|---|---|
Novalloy A | PA/ABS plastics | Shock-resistance Attractive surface appearance (GF-strengthened) High fatigue strength Oil-resistance and slid ability, Excellent paint Characteristics |
| |
Novalloy B | PA/ABS plastics | Chemical resistance |
| |
Novalloy S | Polycarbonate (PC)/ABS plastics | Heat-resistance, shock-resistance, moldability, secondary processing characteristics (painting, steaming, electroplating) |
| |
Novalloy E | Durable antistatic performance ABS plastics |
Antistatic function is native to the plastic itself, so the function does not weaken over time as with conventional surfactant additives but remains as a long-lasting antistatic property. |

Sample Applications by Grade
Category | Kinds | Features |
---|---|---|
Novalloy A | PA/ABS plastics | Underwater pumps, impellers, digital video cameras, power tools, motorcycles |
Novalloy B | Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)/ABS plastics | Bathroom dehumidifiers, gas fixtures, roasters, automotive speakers |
Novalloy S | Polycarbonate (PC)/ABS plastics | Automotive internal parts, hubcaps, microwave/electric ovens, consumer electronics, OA equipment |
Novalloy E | Durable antistatic performance ABS plastics |
Containers for transporting semiconductors, plasma dust collectors, side panels of clerical drawer units |
[ Representative Grades ]
01: Novalloy A
Shock-resistance
Alloying results in significantly higher shock-resistance than either ABS or PA6 plastic demonstrates on its own.

Appearance
Novalloy A offering favorable surface conditions, suffering little glass floating even in GF-strengthened grades.

Fatigue strength

Method | Repeated tension fatigue test (conforming to JIS K 7118) |
Test conditions | 23℃,50%RH |
Test speed | 300 cycles/min. |
The graph shows that the higher the stress (fatigue strength) is in response to the number of cycles, the better the fatigue characteristics are.
02: Novalloy B

A slight amount of chemical seeps into the surface, greatly increasing the warping of the surface layer of the molded product.
|
Thanks to high affinity between the chemical and the modifier, the chemical seeping from the surface of the molded product is absorbed by the modifier.
|
The PBT component prevents the chemical from seeping into the surface of the molded product.
|
As this warping spreads, cracks occur. | Warping is alleviated, so no cracking occurs. | Because the chemical does not seep into the product, warping of the surface of the molded product does not spread, so no cracking occurs. |
The chemical-resistant performance of the product is compromised. | The chemical-resistant performance of the product is excellent. | The chemical-resistant performance of the product is exceptional. |
